How to Grow Spiritually? Who & What Has Held Us Back?

"Seek & You Shall Find, Knock & the Door WILL be Opened Unto You"
"Seek & You Shall Find, Knock & the Door WILL be Opened Unto You"

The Bible says that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. Jesus said “do not marvel at these things that I am doing for these and greater than these you will do. Jesus also said that “you are the light of the world”. Riiiiight we think.

Something’s wrong guys!

Do you feel like you're doing "these and greater works" than Jesus did? Do you have power? Do you feel transformed?

We’re to be no part the world - right? In mind, attitude, desires, emotions, etc. We're taught that we're to "Be Ye Transformed by the renewing of your mind" and "Bring all thoughts captive to Christ" for examination and sorting out. And although this is the most important thing we can work on to grow spiritually in the most powerful way and quick way possible, we are not really admonished to hit hard and heavy on this. We will NEVER grow strong spiritually unless this becomes our most important daily task. Is this the focus in your church?

But if we're very honest with ourselves, we'll have to admit that it is difficult to really see the difference between a Christian and a worldly person or at least it isn’t obvious - right? But why not?

And why are we not doing the greater works than Jesus did?

What has prevented us from believing that we could? What program? What teaching? Think About This for a moment!

Why do we not really KNOW that we are the light of the world (God fully operating through us) at every moment?

So, Jesus learned to be fully surrendered to and open to God - in his mind, in his heart, in his very beingness AT EVERY MOMENT so that he taught us that it was not him saying or doing anything, but only the Father working through him.

He was surrendered to what he felt God wanted him to do, where God wanted him to go and what God would have him to speak each and every moment. He learned this and grew in grace and knowledge as "he grew in more and more favor with God and men".

And he was our example. We can do this too.

We first have to begin working with God to clean the inside of the cup - this temple of the Holy Spirit - which is all in our mind (where our thoughts are) and heart. Our programmed self has to be re-programmed. Paul mentioned how that all that he had come to learn had to be unlearned and then relearned entirely. He had to be reprogrammed by the real truth. It took a bit of time and work with Jesus to accomplish to the point that he could serve.

All of this "cleaning" and purifying of the inner temple (the inside of the cup) has to be cleaned in cooperation with, and with the help of God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit by the bringing of our thoughts before God where they are examined and dealt with. It's a lot of work. But, there is no other way.

But then, we’ll be the light of the world and then we will do as Jesus did and greater than these you will do!

Do you believe this?

Do we limit God by our unbelief? We are His heart, His arms, WE are his hands - we speak His words and they become manifest. What we are living and experiencing we first spoke aloud.

What have we thought and then spoken that is now manifest? We can change starting today, by knocking, seeking, asking and we are told that we will receive whatever we ask if we only believe. Believe that it is going to happen and in due time, and if it is a worthy request, it's as good as done. When we continue to ask, knock and seek without ceasing, we WILL find what we are seeking the scriptures say. Yay! We can do that! Things are about to change!
